Building Owner Re-Occupancy Plans

Tenants should review their individual building re-occupancy plans. The below are items that should be included in a building owner’s re-occupancy plan to ensure a healthy and safe work environment:

1. Occupant and Tenant Spaces

All persons entering a building are required to wear a face mask. Face masks may be provided for those who do not have one (see Personal Protective Equipment). All occupants are to make the efforts to comply with NYS guidelines including cleanliness and social distancing. Owners are to enforce social distancing.

2. Building Cleaning

Cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch spaces which include the following: main entrance doors and handles, lobby surfaces, elevators, hallways, stairwells and common area bathrooms.

3. Personal Protective Equipment

Building staff and security guards are equipped with protective masks and gloves.

All employees, guests, delivery people, contractors etc. who enter the building are required to wear protective masks. Complimentary hand sanitizer and masks are made available at the lobby desk.

4. Elevators, Ingress/Egress

Limit the number of people in the elevator at any given time. Building freight elevators are to be made available for use. Encourage stairwell ingress/egress. Implement plans to direct traffic including signage use. Encouragement of “touchless†check-in if possible.

5. Contractors

All building and tenant contractors are required to wear protective masks and gloves.

6. Deliveries

Delivery management and reduction.

7. Ventilation

Improve air ventilation. Measures include, increased percentage of outdoor air, increased air filtration, use of portable high efficiency particulate air filtration systems and increased ventilation running hours. Alternative measures include germicidal irradiation.
